Transcripts are produced and certified by independent authorized court transcriptionists. Often called an ACT, they have been trained to the highest standards of qualifications set out by the Ministry of the Attorney General and are approved under Ontario Regulation 158/03.
A transcript is the written record of a proceeding that is produced for a number of different purposes. The certification of a transcript is an official oath formally attesting to the truth and accuracy of the document. These can only be produced by those authorized to do so.
Anyone can order a transcript (Appellants, Defendants, Lawyers, Judges, members of the public) but there are certain restrictions to what proceedings can be access and by whom. If you are unsure of the process, contact us. We are here to help

After we receive the form and all of the information necessary, we then submit the audio request and can proceed with quoting your project. Please note that different matters have different timelines which we cannot control, such as reasons or rulings that need to be sent for judicial review before release. Most transcripts of in-court proceedings are available to the public upon request and upon payment of a regulated fee. Transcripts are prepared by independent authorized court transcriptionists who will advise you if there are any restrictions in place on accessing the information provided.

The first copy of a certified, electronic transcript is between $6.30 and $11.75 per page or a flat rate of $25, whichever is greater. These fees are regulated by the province of Ontario.

For a certified electronic copy of a previously transcribed matter there is a flat rate of $25.00. Courier fee for paper copies is an additional flat rate of $15.00
